Best way to handle dental pain when you can’t get to the dentist

| December 20, 2017

It happens.  You have a tooth that flares up in pain occasionally.  You know you need to get in to see your dentist but you put it off for whatever reason.

So it’s Saturday night at 3 AM and your head is pounding because of a severe toothache.  So what now?

For a short period of time you can relieve your dental pain by taking

4 – 200 mg Advil and

2 Extra Strength Tylenol every 8 hours

(if you are allergic to these medications, don’t take them)

Don’t do this for more than 2 days.

Studies have shown this regimen to be as effective on pain relief as narcotics.

And of course on Monday morning….. call your dentist and make an appointment to see them ASAP!
