4 Ways You Can Relax At the Dentist Office

Relaxation

It’s very normal for people to have some anxiety about receiving dental care. The problem comes when your anxiety prevents you from getting the dental care you deserve. To keep your mouth healthy for years to come, here are 4 ways that you can help yourself relax during a trip to Grandview Dental Care.

#1 – Ask us about our sedation options

We provide oral sedation and IV sedation to patients in need of dental care but who don’t like going to see a dentist. This allows you to relax or sleep through the entire procedure, even allowing us in some cases to complete all of your treatment in only one visit!

#2 – Listen to your favorite music

Fill up your iPod or mp3 player with some of your favorite tunes to listen to during your appointment. Just put your earbuds in, sit back, and tune out everything going on around you.

#3 – Bring a blanket

It may sound silly, but wrapping up in one of your favorite blankets from home can help you feel more relaxed when you’re in the treatment area.

#4 – Schedule your appointment first thing in the morning

Coming to the office during our first available treatment times can help you feel more energized and have less anxiety since you won’t be waiting all day for your appointment to come around. You may also want to consider having a lighter breakfast than normal if you have a sensitive gag reflex.

At Grandview Dental Care, our patients’ comfort helps us perform better care at their appointments. Not only does your comfort make it possible to perform the treatment faster, but it also helps us keep your entire experience as positive as possible. We consider all of our patients to be a part of our practice family, and invite you to ask us any time you find that you need a little something extra to reduce the anxiety you may be experiencing. If you want to get to know us better just head over to our staff page or call the office to book an appointment.
