Your dental benefits are expiring

| October 3, 2016

Buckeye football is back in full swing.  Pumpkin spice everything is now available everywhere you look.  Halloween (and even Christmas!) decorations are popping up in stores.  However, there is one thing that you probably haven’t associated with the fall: your dental care.

Most of our patients have some sort of dental insurance plan.  Yet, a lot of our patients are unaware that those plans provide an annual benefit; typically $1000, $1500, or even up to $2000.  The problem with these benefits is that they do not roll over into the next year.  Most plans are aligned with the calendar year, which means come January 1st all of those benefits are lost.  Insurance companies are very calculating in not reminding patients of this fact.

This is where you may have heard the phrase “Use It or Lose It”.  We often find our schedules in December completely booked a month or more in advance with those who are familiar with this provision.  As a result, we are, unfortunately, not always able to accommodate patients looking to get large amounts of treatment accomplished before year-end.  This is why the fall is the most opportune time to schedule remaining treatment you may have been putting off.  In fact, we currently have a contest where two lucky patients that get their dental treatment done  in October or November will win a $250 gift card!  Unfortunately this doesn’t include dental cleanings.

We know that the summer usually has our patients running in ten different directions.  But now that vacations, wedding-season, and summer break have come to a close, we would like to remind you of the importance of taking care of your oral health.  To schedule an appointment please contact us online or call 614-486-7378.  We look forward to seeing you and hearing about your summer!
