An End of the year note from Dr. Bill Thompson

Wow!  Where has 2010 gone? The summer heat is a distant memory, and after a beautiful Fall, Thanksgiving flashed past and we’re little more than two weeks from Christmas. Then comes the New Year.  Isn’t it amazing how quickly the time goes by?

This is the time of year that I like to pause and reflect on what was accomplished with the time we had this year and to be thankful for the good things in our lives.

I want to say thank you to our wonderful patients.  You have made 2010 another successful year for Grandview Dental Care. Without you, obviously, we wouldn’t be here: but beyond that, thank you for being appreciative of the level of care that we provide. We strive to provide the very best that dentistry has to offer for you.

In 2009, we introduced Dr Abraham Hoellrich into the practice and 2010 has been a year of his integration into the practice and practice growth to accommodate two doctors on staff.  Dr Hoellrich came to us with excellent credentials, having served a residency in the US Navy with three years service, as well as three years of private practice experience.  He has excellent training and skills and those of you who have met him have seemed to be very happy with his care.  Thank you for your enthusiastic support for the addition of Dr. Hoellrich to Grandview Dental Care.

My staff members are always at the top of my list of thank yous.  Nothing happens in this office without their efforts and I thank them for their dedication and excellence.  Even though most of you know them, I want to acknowledge each of them.  Sarah, Bre, Amanda and Nicole make everything happen chairside.  They provide comfort to our patients and make sure that the doctors have everything we need to provide excellent care for our patients. Beth, Brandie and Misty are in charge of patient relations and they do the scheduling and finances.  Without them, our patients wouldn’t be hearing their cheerful voices on the phone and no one would be walking through the front door.  Then there are our excellent hygienists, Kay, Shana, Anita and Heather, who help give our patients that extra clean feeling with a light and gentle touch and who are so knowledgable about our patients’ oral health conditions.  Behind the scenes is Becky, who juggles tasks ranging from PR and promoting the practice to accounting and computer technology, and who works hard to keep us all on track.  A very heartfelt “thank you” to all of you.

One of the good things in my life occurred three weeks ago with an inspirational story from a new patient in our practice.  This gentleman related to me that he had not been to a dentist for many years and his mouth was in bad shape.  He had been battling a cancer that had a mortality rate of nearly 100%.  Every day, for the last few years, was focused on just staying alive.  He was now cancer free and wanted to take care of his teeth.  His doctors are amazed that he is alive.  He is now genuinely thankful for every moment that he is alive on this earth.  It has been an inspiration to me to have met this person with an absolute pure love of every moment of his life. What a wonderful outlook to go through life with.

Once again, thank you for being a part of our practice.  I wish each and every one of you a wonderful holiday season and a happy and safe new year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Bill
