Hi! My name is Shana and I am a dental hygienist here at Grandview Dental Care. I got my haircut last night and I’m donating the hair to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths which uses the hair to make wigs for Cancer Patients. I have been growing it out for 2 years and decided to donate it to Beautiful Lengths last summer.
Each braid I donated is 10 inches long. The minimum length is 8 inches. It takes at least six 8-inch braids to make 1 wig.
Pantene allows donations of color treated hair. Some other organizations don’t allow color treated hair.
I decided to donate my hair because 1) It’s a great cause 2) I have healthy hair 3) It’s fun and exciting to have a new do.
You can have any stylist braid and cut your hair and then you mail it in to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. I am very happy I decided to do this.
