My name is Shana and I am a dental hygienist here at Grandview Dental Care.  I got my haircut last night and I’m donating the hair to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths which uses the hair to make wigs for Cancer Patients.  I have been growing it out for 2 years and decided to donate it to Beautiful Lengths last summer. Each braid I donated is 10 inches long.  The minimum length is 8 inches. It takes at least six 8-inch braids to make 1 wig. Once again this year, Grandview Dental Care will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the FireFighters 4 Kids Toy Drive.  We have a collection box in the office and a box on the front porch for after hours and weekends.   This year we will match any toy donated.  Grandview Dental Care will purchase the exact, same or similar toy to donate.  All toys must be dropped off by Wednesday, December 8th.  We would like to thank everyone who has already stopped by the office to drop off their donation.  For more information check out NBC4′s website.

On this eve before Christmas Eve the office is very quiet.  The patients and staff are at home with their families relaxing or perhaps preparing for the festivities in the days to come.  I want to thank you for particpating in our food and Toy drive this holiday season.   We dropped off the loot this afternoon at the Grandview Fire Department and they will make sure the toy donations get to a child in Columbus in need in an effort to help make their Christmas a little bit brighter.  Thank you to all of you for your generous support.  Happy Holidays!      

My staff came to me with this idea and I always say things work even better when it’s the staff’s idea!  We are collecting unwrapped toys and donations for the Firefighters 4 Kids as well as non-perishable food for donations to local food pantry.  You can drop off your donations from now until December 22nd and we will deliver them to the appropriate locations for distribution to local families in need.
