Hooray for a holiday weekend!  And we’re taking Friday off for the holiday and my wife and I are playing some golf with friends! 23 year old Alie Trudeau will be hosting an artist’s show from 7 – 10 PM tonight to help fund a trip to a children’s home in Sudan.  Alie and her boyfriend Drew Bergen will take a month long trip in July to Sudan to deliver goods and provide whatever aid is necessary from helping deliver a baby to teaching kindergarten. The artist’s show will be at Wild Goose Creative, 2491 Summit St in Clintonville from 7 -10 PM Saturday May 30th.  The show will feature Alie’s original photography and mixed media presentations. We enjoy being part of the Grandview Heights community so when we see an event that is fun for the whole family, we want to do our part to promote it. Ok…. if I have your attention let me explain more about the Golden Hobby Shop in German Village, 630 S. 3rd Street.  It’s operated by the Columbus Recreation and Parks department as a non-profit consignment shop for senior citizens’ handcrafted items. Now, I have no need for American Girl stuff but I was there with several “mom authorities” and they have lots of cute outfits for more than 1/2 the price of the American Girl store and they also have wooden desks, tables, and beds upstairs for the dolls. They are having an American Girl Fashion show April 26th and May … Continue reading →

In my younger days……. I was always a BIG FAN of Chicago’s Metromix.com website to help me plan my trip to Chicago.  I recently discovered that there is a Columbus version.  OK, so I’m a little older and not so much into the “scene” anymore but I know some of our patients are!                             So this year I went in with a bunch of guys on season tickets.  It’s a big group, we have 6 seats in section 200 something right behind the goal.  I think I have 2 tickets for 7 to 8 games.  Anyway, they are pretty good seats for that section of the arena, wasn’t a huge investment and there are a lot of colorful diehard fans that sit around us so it’s fun.         I have been to games in season’s past but now I am really into it.  And right now the Jackets are on the bubble as to whether or not they’ll make post … Continue reading →
