Recipe for Dr. Hoellrich’s Monster Cookies

For those of you that don’t know it… Dr. Hoellrich not only cooks but he can bake!  He makes treats for us at the office and we like our treats!  This monster cookie recipe is our new favorite!  Enjoy! Dr. Hoellrich’s Monster Cookies! 1 ½ cups peanut butter 1 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar ½ cup butter or margarine ¼ cup light corn syrup ½ pound M & M’s 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 tsp baking soda 3 eggs 4 ½ cups oatmeal   Cream all ingredients together, adding oatmeal after the other ingredients are mixed.   Bake … Continue reading

There are so many things a smile does for us.  The simple act of smiling can boost your mood and the mood of others around you and one of the best parts is, smiling is free! How often do you laugh? Healthy Back to School Snacks

  It’s hard to believe kids have started back to school already, summer seems to always be the shortest season doesn’t it? I don’t know about you, but my kids come home from school starving and I am forever trying to come up with snack ideas that they will like and that have nutritional value as well. One way  to make healthy snacking fun for  kids is to include the kids in shopping for the ingredients and preparing the snack. Step One…Don’t Panic.  Of course, that’s what we parents/caregivers do naturally, but keep in mind that a blow to the head or the mouth usually looks far worse than it really is.  There will likely be blood, but the child will be less frightened if you stay clam and in control.  Allow the child to hold a  cloth/paper towel with cool water on it  in or on his mouth.
