My name is Becky Thompson and I have been working at Grandview Dental Care since 2003. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Business Administration and spent 15 years in the Corporate IT world before completely switching careers.

Prada, the office dog & I mostly work behind the scenes here at Grandview Dental Care supporting the doctors and staff, keeping an eye on the business, doing special projects and bossing the doctors around….. just ask them.

Dr. T and I enjoy cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and being active.

What is your favorite inexpensive family activity in Columbus?

Any public library. There is always something new to explore.

What is an interesting place you have visited and why was it so interesting?

Boise, Idaho is an under rated gem of a city. Great restaurants, culture, outdoor adventure, climate, and Boise is a very pretty area. Also, the place I worked had a french fry vending machine in the break room… fresh hot Ore Ida fries at anytime, what’s not to like.

Where do you hope to travel to one day and why?

Greece, Spain, and Bali. Greece looks so beautiful in pictures, Spain for the food, wine, and the fact that I have friends that speak fluent Spanish that will go with me, and Bali because it sounds beautiful and exotic.

What’s so great about dentistry?

There are always new products and technologies being introduced that makes things easier and better for the patient.

When you were in grade school what did you want to be when you grew up and why?  (if you can remember)

I wanted to be a school teacher.  I loved to play school and my Mom was a teacher.  As I got older I realized that if I was a teacher there was a good chance that I would have ornery kids in my class(like me) and I didn’t think I could handle…me.

Interesting Dental tidbit

Brushing your teeth twice per day(for 2 minutes each time), flossing everyday, and seeing your dentist for regular checkups is the cheapest and best dental insurance out there.

What’s your favorite comfort food?

I love homemade macaroni and cheese with hotdogs or ham mixed in!

What do you do when you aren’t at work?

I recently have gotten into Spinning and bike riding.  I wouldn’t say I “like” to exercise but I recently read “Younger Next Year” so I plan on being active for the rest of my life.
